The idea behind Dr. Brows, Vancouver's premier semi-permanent makeup studio, emerged from the realization that there was a gap in the market for studios that prioritize both technical expertise and artistic flair. We recognized that the importance of factors such as facial anatomy, proportion, skin tone, and color theory were neglected and determined to offer a personalized approach that caters to the unique needs of our clients. At Dr. Brows, we reject the idea of mass production by narrowing down our range of services and maintain our focus to provide exceptional quality in each of our offerings, and believe that customized solutions are the key to creating beautiful, natural-looking results.
The journey began by receiving expert training from the skillful masters at the Phi Academy, a pioneering institution in the permanent makeup industry. This training equipped us with the technical knowledge necessary to address concerns such as using pigments without toxic metals, ensuring durability, and utilizing environmentally friendly products. We take great pride in our commitment to quality and safety, and our training from the Phi Academy was an important first step in achieving this goal.
To elevate our work and provide even more comprehensive service, it was essential to obtain a medical aesthetics certificate. This allowed us to leverage our knowledge of skin types, common diseases, and other related areas to approach every aspect of our work with meticulous attention to detail. By doing so, we are able to offer innovative and personalized solutions that are tailored to the unique needs of each client.
Nilou, the founder, architect by background, is a certified medical aesthetician, and Phi Academy Microblading, NanoBrows, Eyeliner and Lip Blush artist.
She relies on her 4 years of experience in this profession. Nilou was trained by Phi Academy, one of the most famous semi-permanent makeup academies in the world, and always stays in touch with them to have the latest methods and if necessary, to obtain new certificates.
She also holds a certificate of medical esthetician following more than 750 hours of theory and practice of advanced courses in aesthetic care in Montreal, Quebec.
Her experience in art and design has formed a great artistic taste essential to obtain the best results in semi-permanent makeup. It also helps to better understand what clients are looking for, to have a better idea of the end result, and to work cleanly with proportions, colors and details.
She does not believe in mass selling, which is why she takes care of each client and guides her/him individually from the first contact, to the consultation, to the makeup session and healing follow ups.
Finally, Nilou is able to serve you either in English, French or Persian.

Negar, our lovely Scalp Micropigmentation artist, with a background in nursing, has also been certified by the Phi Academy.
Used to being a nurse, she knows very well how to take care of people and treat them with kindness. She also masters safety and hygiene measures. Despite her solid and disciplined attitude, she mixes her sense of humor into her daily tasks.
Negar is also a yoga instructor. You can feel calm and kindness next to her.
